A New Vision for North Oakville

The Vision

Our vision is based on the idea that everything around a home is as important as the home itself.
The proposed community at Trafalgar Road and Burnhamthorpe East will be designed around a series of parks and open spaces that connect to planned future schools and planned transit. The phasing of the development will be flexible based on North Oakville’s evolving needs over the next two decades.

Parks and public spaces will be an essential part of each neighbourhood. A new public square will become a gathering place for North Oakville. The community will be structured around a series of open spaces and landscapes so future residents have nature at their doorsteps. The plan will include a central green corridor, a series of courtyards, plazas, parks and landscaped streets.

New Homes

Homes will be suitable for families, working professionals, students, newcomers and seniors, earning a range of incomes. The proposal includes low-, mid- and high-rise, with one- to- three-bedroom homes, plus stacked townhomes. This mix is intended to be flexible to accommodate evolving housing needs and population, which is expected to double by 2050. Our design approach moves away from cookie-cutter glass towers, with each block having its own architectural character to ensure aesthetic diversity.

Kids will be able to walk or bike to school through green spaces and trails that connect to future elementary and high schools planned for the area. The goal is to support family-oriented community growth over time.

Getting Around

Trafalgar and Burnhamthorpe East will be a pedestrian-friendly, transit-supportive community. The street design and infrastructure upgrades anticipate future population growth and traffic needs. A BRT route and new transit terminal are planned for the area, which is also a two-minute drive from Highway 407 and a 10-12-minute drive from Highway 403 or Highway 401. Parking will be underground, on the street and integrated into mixed-use buildings.

We plan to build plenty of retail, commercial and community space, including a new grocery store and spaces for other shops and services. Residents will be able to easily walk, bike, take transit or drive to everything they need. These spaces will also offer places to work, allowing people to live and work in the community.

Planning And Development Application

We formally submitted a planning and development application to the Town of Oakville on April 2026. This application is part of a multi-year process that began with consultations with Town staff and the wider public. More consultations will take place in the future. You can track the application’s status through the Active Development Applications section on the Town of Oakville’s website.
